Where the “Pride” Begins
The New Albany Middle School Band Program consists of three bands: sixth grade, seventh grade, and eighth grade.
Each band performs at least two concerts a year. In addition, the sixth grade band performs a concert for the 5th grade elementary students at the end of the year.
In addition to concerts, NAMS band members participate at the regional Solo and Ensemble festival at Itawamba Community College.
The NAMS bands also participate in the New Albany Christmas Parade (all grades) and the New Albany Homecoming Parade (7th-8th grade).
Many students take their musical experiences to the next level by attending area Band Camps in the summer. Each year we have many students attending both ICC Band Camp and Northeast Band Camp.
Finally, 7th or 8th grade students who show a high level of musical proficiency are selected each year to represent New Albany Middle School at both the NEMJBDA Honor Band and the MS Bandmasters State Band Festival.
