8th Grade Band
The 8th grade band is the premier ensemble of New Albany Middle School.
Students in the 8th grade band are exposed to more difficult musical literature in order to prepare them for high school band, and students also have the opportunity to receive individual technique lessons from the directors.
Each year students from the 8th grade band participate in the regional Solo and Ensemble Festival at Itawamba Community College, and a select few are chosen to represent New Albany Middle School at the NEMJBDA Honor Band and the MS Bandmasters State Band Clinic.
8th grade students are also eligible to audition for the Mississippi Lions’ All-State Band.
